Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.
Benjamin Franklin

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7

Top Ten!!

Yet another great weekend! We spent this weekend at my mom and dad's with our family and celebrated our Christmas. We had so much fun opening presents, playing games, and spending time with everyone. Here are some events from the weekend:

10. Seeing everyone open their Christmas gifts!

9. Finding out our entire family has some major eating issues!

8. Playing Loaded Questions with Yellow Buddy

7. Dustin thinking his spouse has a great talent for "selecting a mate"

6. Knowing that the females in our family feel the same in the middle of the night. Either "Seriously, leave me alone," or "Get off of me."

5. Knowing the males in our family think about "Sweet, sweet love..." LOL...

4. Jerome continually reminding all of us that he brought a movie we could watch instead of playing all of our games...(he was not successful at distracting us!)

3. Emily finding out most of her in-laws are crazy jealous of her personality and features: tan, good abs, skinny, and her patience. (Can one really be a Ringger and possess patience??)

2. Knowing where to find Micki if we only have two hours to live because a nuclear bomb is going to hit us

1. Of course...spending time with everyone this weekend. Thank you mom and dad for hosting all of us! It was a blast!

Nursery In Progress

With Brian off of work a few days we have been able to begin getting the nursery ready. We started off last weekend with Mom and Brian painting the walls. Then this week Brian assembled the crib and changed doorknobs and hinges. We moved in the changing table....a great Craig's list deal my mom found and sister picked up....as well as the glider. We changed blinds, added a curtain rod and curtain. We also cleaned the carpets. Geesh...we accomplished a lot...but still have a ways to go!

We still have the eye sore ceiling fan...I didn't take a picture. Hopefully Dustin and Brian will get that changed some weekend while Emily and I watch and deliver them beverages of their choice :) We also have to paint the dresser and get that ready to go. So really...not too much more...at least until we have our first baby shower and start buying stuff to fill it up!

Some of the pictures show the crib, changing table, glider (going to be covered in brown instead of blue), the green wall, the chocolate wall, Brian putting together the trundle drawer under the crib, and Brian taking a break in the glider :)

It makes it so real and is so fun to think that their will be a little person laying in that bed before we know it!

The weather outside is frightning...

Well Christmas vacation got here one day early! Good for me...bad for you all who had to get out and drive...yikes!

Usually today is the day we arrive in Jamaica. Now I just think that Dustin and Emily are enjoying our sunshine for us down in the Bahamas. So very jealous! Maybe they will check this out and the picture of the fantastic weather they barely missed. I am so happy they flew out yesterday and not today!

It is amazing how much ice there is covering everything! Keep warm and drive safe everyone! See many of you at Christmas!

Countdown

It is funny that I never got out of school mode....I still count down till Christmas break! Only four days left! I talked to some parents the other day at school, and they aren't looking forward to the time off near as much as I am. They get their kids at home for two weeks while I get two weeks away!

Prego Belly

How do all those supermodels look pregnant and sexy?? I just don't get it. I always thought it would be fun taking pictures of a prego belly....well not entirely "fun" but oh well. So don't expect many pictures to follow this one. I have a feeling the bigger the belly gets, the less the pictures will appear. Anyway, we are now six and a half months along...almost 27 weeks. Wow, I can't believe it. March will be here before we know it!

WhAt?!?!

How in the world can shirts fit just fine one day and not the next!?!?!?! I have had some very frustrating mornings to say the least. Ugh!

Is it Friday?

It seems that this week took forever! Maybe it is the fact that I am counting down to Christmas break. I think I am worse than the kids. I am ready to shut down my brain for awhile!

My class has such big hearts this year (well, most of them). Instead of doing a gift exchange within our class they decided to buy gifts for a needy family and wrap them at our Christmas party. How fun! We are also writing letters to Santa and delivering them to Macy's where they donate a dollar to the Make a Wish foundation for every letter to Santa they get. They are so excited. One little boy even said, "I wish we could see the kids' faces Christmas morning when they see their presents." I wish I could loop with this class forever...do I really have to start over with a new one next year???

Amazing!

It is truly amazing how much stuff one child needs! Wow! We registered today and it was a long (but fun) day. After Babies R Us we had to take a lunch break at Chili's and re-energize Brian with a beer and some food. Ginger needed re-energized also...but no beer for her. Instead she had ice cold water with lemon...lol. Then we proceeded to Target to register for some things as well. It was great to check this off our list as done as the busy Christmas season is approaching and weekends are booked up. We got home and I crashed on the couch for a nap and Brian jumped on the opportunity to play some video games. The rest of the night was spent relaxing and watching some good ole' college football.

Top Ten...

As the holidays approach each weekend is filled up with family events and much much more. We spent Saturday with my siblings….and let me tell you the stories we come home with in such a short amount of time are hilarious!

Top Ten “Memories/Events”

10. A houseful of (noisy) nieces and nephews who I love to death! Soon enough we will be contributing to that noise level as well!

9. Mom impressing everyone with great chicken noodle soup and yet another chocolate dessert, and Dad fixing a gourmet breakfast of my favorite…potatoes and cottage cheese…for Sunday morning breakfast.

8. Dustin and Emily helping my sisters with their kids at the skating party. Emily returned with a story that Dustin fell. He proceeded to the sidelines where he informed everyone, “I fell. I am done.”

7. Teaching mom how to play a new card game Saturday night (which she had great beginner’s luck). After winning several hands in a row she asked for clarification of the rules again….seriously….how does someone win game after game and not understand the concept of the game!?!?!

6. Dustin and Brian asking for another beer, and Lacey bringing them two O’Doul’s. She laughed all the way up the stairs before even giving them the beers.

5. Ginger commentating a little challenge Dustin, Brian, and Lacey were having that involved drinking, burping, snorting, laughing, stretching, and “keeping loose.”

4. Playing Catch Phrase Saturday night and Lacey drastically emphasizing the buzzer had gone off by making the buzzing noise herself and placing the buzzer directly in mom’s face. Yes, the game was over and Lacey’s team won…everyone clearly understood.

3. Dustin stretching and “keeping loose” for nothing that involved stretching or keeping loose. (He should have done this for the skating party! He did mention several times his elbow and tailbone hurt.)

2. Dad opening the refrigerator Sunday morning to be greeted by a huge bowl of chicken noodle soup in his hands, in the fridge, down the freezer, and on the floor. Oops….was Ginger the last to put that back in the fridge? Good thing she was sleeping when it happened, I am sure he was soooo happy. He walked away while Lacey and Brian cleaned it up.

1. Getting to see everyone and spend time with those we love!! (We missed you Jerome!)

Ah.......

Two hour delays....gotta love them!!

Voting Starts Now!

Well I have posted our names of the week for this week. Vote on which is your favorite. I will add new ones to the list as we think of them (and Brian approves them). But I guess his approval isn't too important right now, otherwise Delaney would be off the list!

Have fun!

Baby Girl

Well in case you haven't heard...we found out we are having a girl! They couldn't tell at first, but then I refused to leave...hehe...and went back to get another picture. (No, really they told me I could come back.) She said she could tell it was a girl...but I really don't see how! So we are taking her word for it. The picture they printed you could hardly tell anything, but on the computer it was a little bit clearer.

So my sister came over and filled a room with baby stuff. Clothes, clothes, and more clothes....seriously....she has two girls TONS of clothes to go with them. Good for me I guess! My other sister is also allowing me to use tons of her stuff. Wow...it is great to have sisters who have kids!

Well, the name....geesh...I tell you. Our list gets longer and longer instead of getting shorter. Then my husband, brother, and dad ask, "Is that even a real name?" Hmmm....I think that one is off the list.

Sad Irish Fans

What a beautiful weekend! We packed up and headed to the University of Notre Dame to watch them take on Pitt. We lucked out and were able to score some great tickets along with a great parking pass. We arrived around 10:00 am and were the midst of all the dedicated tailgaters. I tell you what....tailgating is an art up there. It is all about showmanship. People have quite the set up! Generaters were going, stereos were blaring, flags were waving, and everyone was having a great time! Compared to everyone else's tailgate set up....we were the poverty tailgaters!

Pre-game was a blast, and the game was fun also. (Although the outcome could have been better!) Our seats were seven rows off the field where we could see all the action....like a game plus four overtimes of action. During the first overtime the sprinkler systems went off on the field...causing some laughter during the game. The Irish just couldn't pull of a victory, but the day was still fun! Can't wait to make a game next year as well!!

Thanks!

Good news Jeremy got to go home! Thank you everyone for your prayers and please continue as he will have another test to make sure everything is healing properly :) It is amazing how God works and how powerful prayer is. It is a good reminder to turn to God with our worries and not to try to handle them ourselves.

Prayers Needed!

We got word last night that our cousin Jeremy had a brain aneurysm and is in the hospital. He has a wonderful wife, BeAuTiFuL baby girl, and a great family. He and his family need all the prayers they can get! Prayer obviously works because it got him through the first night and he had LOTS of people praying for him. Within minutes people all over were waking up and stopping whatever they were doing and praying for him and his family. Please pray and add him to your prayer list and whatever other prayer list you know of. Thank you!

20 Weeks

This is week 20! Can you believe it? I can't. Friends and sisters have given me some good books to read and I have started reading some of them. Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy is hilarious! Thanks Tascha! She tells it how it is...the good and the bad. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is pregnant or as a gift for a pregnant friend. Brian has even starting doing some reading...hehe...okay, not totally his choice. But by golly, shouldn't they have to learn some things too?!? He has been a great husband throughout this pregnancy...I some of you think you have the best husband....but we will just have to agree to disagree :)

Keep us in your prayers as our ultrasound data approaches rapidly! Thanks!

Fun Weekend

We had a packed weekend and it was a blast! We started off Friday night heading to Indy to hang out with Lacey and Jerome. We tried a new Irish restaurant and found a great mall. We can't wait to go back! Then on Saturday we attended a great fall party! We played games, had a bonfire, and was entertained by a band of....well....kids! Each member was younger than 15 years old and they were great! Sunday Brian and I went Lucas Oil to watch the Colts beat the Ravens. WOW....that place is huge! We had great weather and were busy all weekend. I am definitely ready for bed!

Girls Night

I love excuses for girls night! Last night we sent my grandma off to Florida with one last fling out at Biaggi's...yum! I think I had enough bread and oil for a life time (well probably not...I am sure I will have more!). It was fun getting to catch up with everyone. It seems like I seem some of my aunts and grandma only at Thanksgiving!

Week 18

Well this is week 18....we are almost to the half way point and even closer to the point where we will hopefully be able to determine whether it's a boy or girl! My family has made up their mind...and are split about 50/50. A few people have work have said I have started showing and I have officially stopped wearing some of my pants. We went to look for maternity clothes, and I am just not sure yet. I did find some cute ones though. We just got a pair of pants and a couple shirts. We have a doctor's appt. this week and then our next one should be our ultrasound. Can't wait :)

What Would You Do?

What would you do TODAY, if you knew Jesus was coming TOMORROW?

Doesn't this really make you think? It was the topic of our sermon this week. It really made me think: Am I doing everything I should be doing? Helping those who need help? Spending time daily talking to God? And so much more!

Our reading was out of 2 Peter where it says Christians were becoming disappointed ans scared that Christ had not yet returned to rescue them from evil and suffering, like promised. He explained (3:8) With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. So even though is has been 2,000 years, some might wonder, is he ever coming back? But from God's eternal perspective, it has only been two days!

God is giving everyone time to find Him. 2 Peter 3:9...He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to him in repentance.

I thought this was great message and left me with plenty to think about.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Need Tickets!

Well, not too much is going on just keeping busy doing this and doing that.

We are looking for tickets to the Pitt. vs. ND game on November 1st. I have a lot of people keeping their eyes and ears peeled....so I thought I'd put it on here also. We've been checking ebay, but they have been a bit expensive for our taste. After the way they played this weekend, maybe they will start going a bit cheaper!

Hope everyone is doing well. It seems like we haven't seen everyone in quite sometime!

Have a good one!

Gooooo I-rish!

Well it definitely wasn't the prettiest win ever, and Michigan did help out a lot by continually giving the ball back to us....but a win is a win! We might as well celebrate 2-0 while we have it to celebrate! Poor Charlie...did everyone see his knee when his player took him out? Ouch! So all you Irish fans another week to celebrate! Let's hope it continues at Michigan State!

Sound like a Frog?

Well I went back to school today and my how honest kids are. Within the first ten minutes of being there one of my students said I "sounded like a frog" and it was hard to listen to me. Then as the day continued my entire class said my coughing was annoying and I should have stayed home another day.

Sounds like they really missed me, huh?

Baby's Heartbeat

Well today we went to our 14 week appointment and go to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was healthy and strong. They had to use a different monitor thing so they didn't get an actual number, but said it sounded like it would be in the 150's. Sounded great to us! Eight more weeks and we should be able to determine the sex of the baby. They don't want to do the ultrasound at our next appoitment because it might be a little early to tell.

Great Football Weekend!

Yah! ND pulled off a great victory, then the Bears followed it up by beating the Colts! Even though it was a great football weekend, our household has been filled with some illness. I've been sick all weekend battling a low fever and cough. Yuck! It is ten times worse being sick AND pregnant! Usually I would have loaded up on some good meds and been on my way. Yeah...not this weekend. I loaded up on some good ole water, rest, and a tylenol here and there. All of which were not extremely helpful. Slowly but surely getting better....

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Hello, Hello....

Well, I don't have much more to share...geesh...my life just isn't as interesting as my sisters'! Hmmm.....let's see.....currently my second week of school and things are going very well.

I am feeling a little better each day which is great! We are currently in our twelfth week of pregnancy...almost through the first trimester...wahoo! I got some maternity clothes from a friend...yikes...they are kind of scary to try on! But I am sure they will fit sooner than later. Our next doctor's appt. is Sept. 9th and we should be able to hear the heartbeat. We can't wait!

Later!

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Hi!

Well I am back to school...time just goes too quickly! We are also in our 11th week of pregnancy...almost through the first trimester...yah! We should be able to hear the heartbeat at the next doctor's appointment and then the next one after that we should be able to find out if we are having a boy or a girl! Names have stayed pretty much the same. I keep introducing new ones to Brian, but he isn't too receptive. He likes the ones we have picked out.

Thanks for checking in!

Hello!

Hey Everyone!

I know I have a class blog, but I thought it would be fun to have one for Brian and I as well. So....here we go. It is still a work in progress, but it's a start!
