Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.
Benjamin Franklin

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7

Big Weekend

What a big weekend! We started off with hardly any plans and ended up staying busy the entire time! Brian took off Friday....how does a four day weekend go by so quickly?!? We started off at Dustin and Emily's lake house Friday and Saturday (see previous blog).

Then we headed back to Fort Wayne Saturday afternoon. Retired to our beds early in hopes of getting a good night's sleep...successful! Woke up and headed off to a list minute trip to mom and dad's to visit them and the Adams' family...Jerome was there too! It seems we only get to see him a few times a year! It was Stella's first time sporting her new swimsuit so we had to get some pictures. Her time outside was very limited so we had to take pictures fast!

Way Too Much Fun

I love long weekends and we still have two more days to go! This weekend Brian, Stella, and I headed north to Matteson Lake to hang out with Dustin and Emily. We had so much fun! We played cornhole, cooked out, had a bonfire, went boating, and some skiied....not me! Maybe I will work up the courage next trip. I had to post a picture of Dustin and Emily in their waders going out to move the boat to the other lift. They looked like such a cute couple.

Is this a good photo of Dust? So relaxing...something he needs to do more often!!

Another Prompt....

So I kind of like thinking about things I don't usually think about. I think our lives are so fast paced we often take things for granted and just don't stop to enjoy and think about things. So here is the next thing for you to think about and respond to if you so feel:

How is life different for your children compared to when you were growing up?

Wow....entirely different! I think about the kids in my class and how different their experiences are compared to mine. It amazes me how much they know about computers and technology....texting, cell phones, Internet, etc. It is awesome...and yet kind of scary. All of these tools also have easy access to some real dangers! Something else that came to mind right away is the cartoons. I turned on Saturday morning TV the other day, and it was junk! What happened to Garfield, Smurfs, and the other quality shows? I have had several parents complain about the attitudes their kids are developing because of the Disney shows on TV...yikes!

Blogger Prompt

Sometimes I want to blog or email something....and have nothing to blog about. Hmm. What to do. I feel like one of my students when I tell them to write about whatever they want. It should be easy, right? Well sometimes it isn't. So then I tell them to go back to their writers notebook, a magazine, or whatever and look for an idea. So that is what I did. I came across some stuff that has great topics for writers/bloggers to think and write about. I think it will be interesting and fun to write about some new things. Feel free to post your thoughts on the prompt as well!

Think about:

You come across a homeless person on the street. Do you give him/her money? Why or why not?

My response: Hmm...well it really depends on the situation. When I go to a Reds game or when we went to the Braves game there were homeless people everywhere. I would have been handing out money left and right. Not sure what I would do if I came across a homeless person here in Fort Wayne.

What would you do?

I Have Found My Place

Come to our house around 5:30-6:30 and this is what you will find....Stella resting comfortably on mama in the rocking chair. It soothes her meltdowns. However, it makes me quite unproductive as I sit in the chair. Oh well, I enjoy the time rocking her...soon enough she won't want to sit in my lap and rock! Then she is calm and ready for daddy when it is bath and bedtime!

Recently Read....

Some of you are readers...some of you are not. If you are looking for some good reads, then I have just the series for you. Tascha used to read these when we lived together, so I thought I would give them a try. Janet Evanovich is a fabulous author. Her writing is a great mix of styles: romance, humor, drama, mystery, etc.

The main character is Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter, with the worst luck. Her life is in turmoil, her family is nuts, as are most of her friends and people she meets. She isn't necessarily good at her job, but it pays the bills. Her love life is a wreck. She is attracted to two men....Morelli, a cop and Ranger, a mysterious bounty hunter.

These books are quick reads and will make you laugh! Highly recommended....it helps to read them in order....start with One for the Money.

Anyone else have any good authors to suggest? I also like James Patterson and his series with Detective Alex Cross.

Doctor Appt. Week

What a busy week. It seems that we have a doctor's appt. every day this week! Ugh. We had chest xrays yesterday and get to see the results on Thrusday at our cardiology appointment. Today we have her pediatrician appointment....the shots begin....I am dreading this!

Thanks for all prayers in advance :)

Bath Time

Stella works herself up so much as the evening progresses, however she calms down during her bath time. She feels the towel go around her, calms down, and looks so cute!

I'm Back.....

Woohoo! Our computer decided to be stubborn and not turn on last Thursday. Stay at home mom without a computer?!?!

I immediately called HP to ask them what to do....even though our warranty was 348 days expired....they reminded me of that several times. They had me try a few things...didn't work. So they said since it was our first repair they would fix it. It was most likely the system board which was a $390 part...yikes! However, they would fix it free of charge. Great customer service! They FedExed a box to me the next day with packaging material, tape, and a prepaid shipping label. Sent it out on Friday and got it back today!!

New blogs and pictures to come!!
